Roco travelled to Fermoy FC for their opening first year game this year and turned in a great performance winning 10-0 in a match that could have finished a lot more than the ten scored.

Despite constant pressure in the first half, Roco missed some great chances to break the deadlock and it was down to centre back Olan Gribbon on 22 minutes to take charge and put Roco one up from a Daniel Meade corner. Meade would go on to score himself just on half time after great work by the impressive Michael Nason on the right wing.

Roco made a lot of changes at half time and the strength of the squad was seen as three early goals were scored within five minutes of the restart from an OG and two from Daniel Meade including a penalty to claim his hat-trick.

More of the Roco panel were introduced and they didn’t disappoint and they helped Roco peg on a few more goals through Roger Tymon (2) and Mark Redmond. Harry Andrews and Jack Flanagan would add two more in an all round highly impressive performance. Man of the Match: Daniel Meade

04-12-15 – First Year Munster Cup Group C – Rochestown 1  (Fionn Sheehan)   Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal Blarney 0

Roco played their first home game of the season in early December and secured top place in Group C by making it two wins from two. This match was a dour affair with the wind playing havoc with playing conditions at Douglas Hall. Despite dominating possession, Roco struggled to create many clear cut chances, with Sean Cantillon and Michael Nason looking very threatening down the right. Blarney created some chances of their own but the Roco defence remained solid with Harry Andrews in particular looking very solid at left back.

This match was decided with the final touvh of the game as substitute, Fionn Sheehan, rose high above everyone else to power home an unstopable headerfrom a Daniel Meade corner. Roco deserved the win and topped the group. Man of the Match: Michael Nason

22-01-16 – First Year Cork Cup Round 1 – Rochestown 1  (Cian McCarthy)   Patrician Academy 0

Having won an unprecedented 3 in a row of Cork Cups, Roco opened their defence at a cold Ballea Park in early January. Despite dominating the first 20 minutes, Roco couldn’t break down a physically big and strong defence. Adam Walsh, Daniel Cunningham and Jack Flanagan were all combinating well and on a few ocassions came very close to opening the deadlock. Eventually, Cian McCarthy volleyed home a clearance from the edge of the box to give Roco the lead. Patrician Academy came more into the game in the final minutes of the firsthalf but Roco would go in 1-0 at half time.

The second half was a more even affair with Patrician Academy now pushing forward a lot more and causing Roco more problems. Roco had their chances as the game opened up and Jack Flanagan and Roger Tymon went close to adding to Roco’s lead.
