Munster U20 Senior Cup

Roco have had a very good year and made it all the way to the semi-finals where they were finally knocked out by Carrigaline.

The first game against Ballincollig CS finished in a 2-2 draw with goals coming from David King and Daniel Kingston. The back 4 of Cian Devine, Gavin Fitzgerald, Luke Carroll and Daniel O’Flaherty played particularly well on the day.

The second game against Spioraid Naomh really showed the potential of this team with Roco finishing out 5-1 winners with goals coming from Man of the Match George Gill (2), David King, Daniel Kingston and Ben McAuliffe.

26-01-15 – Munster Senior Cup QF – Rochestown 2 De La Salle 2 (Roco win 2-1 on pens AET)(Luke Carroll, Cathal Dold)

In the quarter final vs De La Salle, Roco went a goal behind late in the game but equalised with 8 minutes left through Luke Carroll. In extra time, Cathal Dold put Roco 2-1 up and it looked like that would be the winner until 2 minutes into injury time, De La Salle forced the game to penalties after getting a goal from a corner from an unlikely source; their goalkeeper.

The peanalty shootout was one of the most bizarre ever as both sides scored their first penalties and then the next 7 were missed. Andrew Cullinane in the Roco goal played a blinder at this stage and set up a grandstand finish where Daniel O’Flaherty scored the winning penalty to send Roco to the semi-finals.

04-02-15 – U20 Senior Cup Semi-Final – Rochestown 0 Carrigaline CS 1

This was a tense match between two neighbouring sides that was very even for large parts.
